Life is a messy, complicated, exhilarating business with topsy-turvy rollercoasters and stranded-on-the-highway moments. In the literary world, we have a term for stories that begin “smack dab in the middle.” En media res means “in the midst of things,” which is where our journey begins–in the center of life’s complexities and intricacies. So grab a cup of coffee (or tea), a good pen, and a comfy chair and prepare yourself for an adventure.
Life is a journey, not a destination. –Ralph Waldo Emerson
Only Because of Him,
Hello and welcome!
I am so glad you are here. Thank you for joining me on this journey. I look forward to getting to know you and I pray you find encouragement here.
A Little About Us:
My name is Sarah. Wayne, my husband and partner in life, is the sweetest and strongest man I know. He calls me his wife. I feel honored to carry that title!
We’ve been married two years this November. Newlyweds? Almost! We are learning much along the way. Together, we are training up four rambunctious and resilient kids.
My husband is an auto mechanic. He likes hunting, fishing, and golfing. His favorite drink is sweet tea. And best of all, he can repair just about anything. He’s especially talented in knowing when I need a coke and a Hershey’s bar for my sanity.
I love the outdoors, enjoy photography, and remain a willing prisoner of the writing life. I drink my coffee hot and my tea cold. My husband supports my blogging adventures, and for that (and his belief in my dreams) I am grateful.
My Purpose Here:
I am a mom who finds myself speaking up more often than sitting quiet and who raises my hand when others stay still. I didn’t begin this journey as a parent thinking I would become a voice for anything. God must have laughed at me many times. Along the path, I’ve found my voice. Now, I’m seeking my tribe! Will you join me in the quest?
My Educational Background:
I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In May 2017, I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing — Creative Nonfiction from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I have an Associate of Arts in English from Cape Fear Community College (2012).
